(UG) (OL) (F,S) Descriptive statistics, probability, random variables, variance and standard deviation, various probability distributions, estimation and hypothesis testing, chi-square distribution, t-tests, regression, and correlation. Goals: (1) to understand the basic concepts used in probability and statistics; (2) to equip students for applying the concepts in appropriate real-life situations; (3) to be able to analyze data presented in graphical and numerical forms; and (4) to enable students to solve typical problems in statistical inference and hypothesis. Prerequisite: MATH 110 or permission from instructor.
